Happy Out At Sea

Sailing For The Disabled - Pride of Cumbria
is a registered charity and takes people with disabilities sailing in the Solway Firth and the Irish Sea. The skippers and crews are Royal Yachting Association Qualified and undergo training trips throughout the sailing season. Volunteers are vetted through the C.R.B System.
We encourage and teach disabled people to have go at the actual sailing of the yacht.

We are always looking for sponsors to keep us up and running

It costs around £8,000 a year just to keep the yacht up and running.

We carry a Tac Tic Compass on Board.
This allows blind people to actually take control of the helm.
The compass clips to the ear and two distict sounds go off if someone is going off course.

Our Young TraineesWe also have young trainees involved with us. These trainees have undergone in house training and hopefully this year futher there training.
